The Cleveland High School Leadership Program: Freshman Orientation

After the initial start of school and the inciming freshman were all settled in, the CHS Leadership team sat down and talked with us about they thought things went with their freshamn orientation this year.
I spoke with three studnets, Hunter Oliver, Ben Morris, and Sarah Crump. All three were apart of both planning and implementing the Freshman Orientation. Hunter stated that the studnets themselves sat down and worked thorugh scheduling issues,
Summer ended a day early for the Leadership students at Cleveland HIgh School. Students involved in this program volunteered the last day of summer to come and plan for the incoming freshman. Students came prepared to work, and spenf the day making signs, name tags for all freshaman, became familiar with the schedule for the first day of school, and practiced giving the tour.

"It went good. I feel like we could have been a little more organized about the way we did our schedules, but it all went smooth and the freshman were well behaved. We awere able to help the freshman with their transition to high school."
- Hunter Oliver, Leadership III Student
"I thought it was organized pretty well, some of the lessons ni the science department were maybe not as relevant as we wanted them to be for specifically freshman, so maybe next year we will look into plannin ghtat part out a little better. The freshman this year for an actual tour of the school. When I was a freshman, we played games the first day, and they were fun, but it didn't help prepare me for my freshman year of high school. I'm glad to be apart of this part of making the freshman experience better!"
- Sarah Crump, Leadership III Student
