CHSLive, the Digital Media Production Department at Cleveland High School, is excited to announce the addition of a new Digital Media Instructor, Mrs. Taunya Lovelace. Mrs. Lovelace is no stranger to CHSLive, as she has been involved for the past several years in various capacities. She has hosted the football pregame show for two years, assisted with production at home and away football games, served as mentor and evaluator for many of the on-air talent, and worked as crew in almost every position within the CHSLive Production Team. She has also been involved behind the scenes with many of the day to day operations.
Mrs. Lovelace has worked at CHS for the past 10 years as the Library Media Specialist. She has formed unique bonds with many of the students which will carry well into the classroom. She serves as the co-sponsor of Anchor Club and Hiking Club and will also continue to teach and advise the CHS Yearbook Class. Mrs. Lovelace has a Masters Degree and her undergrad from Tennessee Tech University where she also was a decorated Golden Eagle basketball player. Her vast personal experience in athletics including winning 4 OVC Championships, competing in 3 NCAA tournaments and receiving many other awards will be a tremendous asset to CHSLive Athletic Productions. She is also an Adobe Certified Associate and an active member and contributor to several national journalism organizations.
The Digital Media Program at CHS currently serves over 200 students with plans to grow over the next year. Mrs. Lovelace will be instructing all DMP Level 1 courses, while Mr. Souders will continue advising DMP 2-4. Both teachers will be heavily involved with the daily operations of CHSLive to actively grow and develop the program.
There are many exciting developments and ideas on the horizon as Mrs. Lovelace moves into her new role at CHS including the CHSLive jump into cable and over the air television. Her wealth of knowledge, engaging personality, and business marketing skills will provide students a broader exposure to Digital Media and introduce new experiences to enhance their overall understanding of this ever growing industry.
